Lympstone Village

A View Across the Exe at Dusk, August 1997

Lympstone is a picturesque, old fishing village, a past winner of Britain in Bloom, with a small harbour, historic Peter's Tower and old parish church. Combining modern amenities with unspoilt, old world tranquility the village gives a real taste of England's most beautiful county.

Lympstone Amenities

The village has a number of shops, a small supermarket (open until late), Newsagent (open until late), Post Office and Hairdresser - all within a minute's walk of the village centre.  There are four child-friendly pubs within a very short distance.

The Swan - Real Ales and Good Food

The Village Post Office

Because the village pre-dates the car, car parking can be difficult on the village streets, although there is a large car park close to the cottage. Unfortunately, this is now operated on a "Pay and Display" basis, It is, however, possible to purchase a very reasonably priced weekly ticket, which is valid for all car parks in East Devon. The pay and display system even applies to orange badge holders throughout East Devon council car parks.
